Chandaneswar Temple, Overview

Located 6-7 km from Digha, this temple is famous for Lord Shiva. This temple is one of the holiest religious sites of Digha. Chandaneswar temple has mythology and folklore depicting it’s creation and history. This is fantastic place for lovers of Lord Shiva. The temple is a rather small one, but has a big compound. During the Odia month of Chaitra (mid-March to mid-April) this temple hosts a huge fair called Chadak Mela, which is attended a large number of tourist every year, It continues for 13 days. The temple host to a huge annual fair on the first day of the Odia calendar, is celebrated on the premises and sees an influx of a large number of tourists every year.
