The Lotus Temple, dedicated to the Baha’i faith, stands in the national capital of New Delhi. ➭Architecture

Encircled by lavish green landscaped gardens, this lotus-motivated structure spreads across 26 acres of land. Crafted using white marble sourced from Greece, it comprises 27 petals within the free-standing state. Moreover, the architectural marvel seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings, creating a serene and harmonious ambiance.

To lend the structure a nine-sided circular shape, as indicated within the Baha’i scripture, the structure organizes these petals in groups of three. There are nine entrances that open to an enormous central hall, which is about 40 meters in height. The temple includes a capaciousness of 1300 people and may accommodate 2500 people at a time.

There are not any altars or pulpits inside the Lotus Temple, which is a common feature of all Baha’i House of Worship. The interiors are barren of any statues, pictures, or image also. An eye-catching feature of the temple is that the nine pools of water located round the petals.
